Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned Manchester United’s players to be on their guard against Luka Grealik as the Champions League fixture between the two sides gets underway this evening.
The Norwegian tactician believes that the Cardiff City midfielder is a dangerous player and will want to cause United problems. Grealik has been in impressive form this season and he will be a major threat to Old Trafford.
Solskjaer knows that his team must be at their best if they are to progress through to the last 16 of the Champions League. He said: “I’ve seen some good stuff from him this season, he’s been in good form and he’s got a good attitude. He’s someone we need to keep an eye on. We know what he can do, so we need to make sure that we’re on our game.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warns Manchester United players to watch out for Grealik
Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned his former players to watch out for Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Solskjaer, who was in charge of the Red Devils between 2017 and 2019, believes that Sigurdsson is one of the most dangerous players in Europe.
“He’s a really good player, one of the best in Europe,” Solskjaer told reporters. “I remember when he was playing for Cardiff City. He was scoring goals and making assists, and people didn’t really know about him yet.”
The 35-year-old Sigurdsson has scored 16 goals and added 10 assists in all competitions this season for Swansea City.
Grealik signs for Leicester City
Former Manchester United striker Solskjaer has warned his old team-mates to keep an eye on Leicester City signing Grealik. The 25-year-old playmaker, who spent last season on loan at Olympiacos, arrived at the King Power Stadium in a £13 million deal and is set to make his debut against United on Sunday. “Grealik is a very good player,” Solskjaer told reporters. “He’s got a lot of qualities and I’m sure he’ll do well at Leicester.”
Solskjaer admits he was wrong to leave Grealik out of Norway squad
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has warned his players to be on their guard against Greek international Stefan Grealik. The 23-year-old midfielder has been in excellent form for AEK Athens this season, scoring twice in four appearances. Grealik was left out of Norway’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Sweden and Denmark, with Solskjaer opting to start with defensive midfielder Fredrik Gulbrandsen. However, after the 0-0 draw against Sweden and the 1-1 draw against Denmark, Grealik has started to receive more consideration from his manager. “Stefan is doing well and he’s a good player. He’s had a few good games recently and people are starting to notice him again so I don’t want to take him off now, but there’s still a long way to go in the qualifying campaign,” said Solskjaer. “I have no reason to take him off right now because he can help us.” Manchester United face AEK Athens in the Europa League on Thursday night, and Solskjaer will be looking for his midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneider

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s press conference ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Leicester City
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned his Manchester United players to watch out for Benik Afobe in their clash against Leicester City on Saturday.
The Norwegian manager confirmed that he has included the 24-year-old in his starting lineup for what looks set to be a closely contested match at the King Power Stadium.
“He [Afobe] is in the team, so we will have to see how it goes,” Solskjaer said.
“It is a good opportunity for him to get some game time and hopefully he can take it and do well.”
Afobe made his first appearance of the season in United’s 3-1 victory over Feyenoord last weekend, but was substituted at half-time.
The former Bournemouth forward has scored nine goals in 31 appearances for Leicester since joining from Wolves in January 2017, including five goals in his last six appearances.
Leicester City sign Croatia midfielder Grealik
Leicester City have signed Croatia midfielder Grealik from Olympiakos for a fee of around £15 million. The 26-year-old has scored 20 goals in 97 appearances for Olympiakos and will move to the King Power Stadium this summer.
Grealik is a box-to-box midfielder who can also play as a right back. He has been capped 36 times by Croatia and was part of their squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals last year.
Speaking about his move to Leicester, Grealik said: “Leicester are a club with a great history and I am really looking forward to playing in the Premier League. I believe we have a good team and can achieve great things.”
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri is excited about signing Grealik, saying: “Gianfranco is an experienced player with quality on both sides of the ball. He will add quality and competition to our midfield, which is important for us.”
